My name is Austin Parkhill, and I am forever a student of art. I was born and raised in Colorado, but have lived in Toledo, Ohio, and Invermere, British Columbia for fairly brief periods of time. I have played upper level hockey and enjoy weight training in addition to my artwork. I am nearly finished taking courses at Colorado State University for a degree in Fine Art, but have also enjoyed creating and selling art outside of the school setting. I am most inspired working in my own studio, wherever I may take it.
My work is often inspired by the movement of life. There is always something to describe that, but it will never be only one object or subject that I have discovered, though humor infiltrates my work frequently. My style is literal and imaginary. I believe the soul needs more than one thing to create.
While I am first and foremost a painter, I enjoy sculpture, as well as mixed media.
I most often prefer to work in acrylic and oil, but also frequent fine colored pencil, pen and ink, charcoal, markers and pencil.
I look forward to each and every next piece, and hopefully use what God has given me. It is there for a purpose. Please take your time browsing through what work I have displayed up here. Thank you very much for your interest in art, from all artists. Feel free to contact me with any questions or comments.
