Revising Botticelli--oopppss!!!!
Darwin Leon
---After Sandro Botticelli---
One of my all time favorites is Botticelli's "The Birth of Venus". Definetelly an important icon from the early Renaissance. While admiring and studying this beautiful classical composition full of movement and harmony, ooopppss!!!! I found and imperfection in the anatomy of the left arm of the attractive venus.
Such imperfection seems to be working as a whole composition, almost surreal.
But in reality the left arm starting from the clavicle going down the shoulder following the elbow all the way to the hand has no bone structure. But her right arm is perfect.
It looks like the arm is empty. (Check it out by yourself, see art history book and compare)
I took the liberty in doing a little surgery to Venus' arm anatomy and included all this missing elements that I mentioned.
I also added more hip on her right side assuming female's pelvis is wider than male. And this was the outcome after my revision.
(He is still one of my favorites)
