One of a series of mixed media portraits of Iconic Americans. This one is of the ill fated John Lennon. Lennon was, of course, British by birth, but by the end of his all too short life (aged 40) he was clearly an American icon at least as much as he was a British one. John left England for New York on 3rd September 1971 and by John's death on 8th December 1980 he had never returned to the UK. In this piece I have employed his trademark 'granny glasses' as symbols of his US/English persona.
