Duke and Dutchess Deconstruction #3a
David Lewis Baker
A modernist reinterpretation of the celebrated portrait of the Duke and Dutchess (Battista Sforza) of Urbino (orignials are in profile) executed by the Renaissance master Piero della Francesca in 1470. This piece is one of my 'deconstructionst' works a term I developed in concert with the Venice artist Livio Baldiesera. The work is also inspired by the works of Modiglani, Picasso (blue period) and the surrealist masters.
