Passing Figures (Karhide) #5
David Lewis Baker
One of a series of cubist watercolours of strange figures passing by. Inspired by the figures of Henry Moore and and also a form of anorthoscopic perception with a degree of discrepancy between the retinal pattern and what is perceived and also a sense of movement, in this case behind a screen, or viewed through a slat screen. Finally the piece is inspired by the cold streets of the state of Karhide from Ursula Le Guin's wonderful Sci Fi novel.
