Arches of Eternal Return Revised #1
David Lewis Baker
A priest-like figure waits behind arched walls and by a tower in a dream-like and surreal scene which is directly inspired by the early architectural and cityscape works of de Chiraco. This piece is derived from a photograph of my first large arcylic painting, (1982) and was donated to the department of politics at Sheffield University in 1986. Although this piece maintains the original style, there have been major changes to the composition for the new versions.
