Schooner "Bluenose ll"(1)
George Cousins
Limited Edition prints (50) signed and numbered
The original Bluenose was launched in Lunenburg on March 26, 1921.She was a typical Nova Scotia Grand Banks fishing schooner, but her legendary speed under Captain Angus Walters, soon brought her to the series of International Fisherman’ Trophy races between Canada and the U.S, in which she was undefeated. She is now a national symbol, on Canadian stamps and the ten-cent coin, and immortalized in numerous movie documentaries.
Bluenose II was built at the same shipyard, from the same plans and even by some of the same men as the original. At first owned by the Oland family, she was later donated to the Province and serves as a goodwill ambassador for Nova Scotia, cruising to numerous ports in Canada and the States.
