My name is Jon Cox and I am 22 years of age. I am a self-taught artist in Creative Writing, Digital Art, Drawing, Found-Object Sculpture, Painting, Photography and Ventriloquism. I have been creating works of art since I was very young. I have always believed, one man's junk is another man's treasure, as well as the fact that Art Is Life, Life Is Art.
My art world, which is known as "Art Is Life, Life Is Art" was created, founded and established by I, Jon Cox; on January 1st of 2006. Every morning, I awake at sunrise and go directly to my art studio. I begin working on my art as soon as possible. I do not stop working until either late in the evening or early the next morning.
Using Computer and Digital art, I absolutely love creating carving patters. They are patterns which can be used in carving pumpkins for Halloween. My carving patterns can also be used for carving hollow, thick melon shells for any occasion. All of my carving patterns are simple, as well as suitable for all ages.
Combining Digital Art with the mighty shield of a heroic character, whom I have created, in my Creative Writing...On Saturday, July 19, 2008 at 11:44 a.m., I successfully created the one and only official "Art Is Life, Life Is Art" logo. Using my official logo, I have created my own Catalog of Art Is Life, Life Is Art merchandise, which you can purchase and enjoy!
I love creating drawings and illustrations, working with oil pastels, as well as painting pictures of anything that inspires me. I absolutely love to create literary works of art (fact and fiction) to suit the visual works of art I create. Everything I write creatively, comes from my own heart, mind, soul and imagination.
All of the Found-Object Sculptures I create, consist of discarded material. Discarded material such as cans, plastic containers, cardboard, as well as other discarded items. I use paper mache to help hold each creation together and keep it in good form. I create various Found-Object Sculptures, such as imaginative characters, real people, symbolic creations, etc.
I absolutely love photography as well. I love taking photos of anything beautiful that catches my eye and inspires me. My main photography focus has always been based upon history. I thoroughly enjoy visiting historic locations (the older, the better) and taking photographs to capture the location's historic glory, inside and out.
As far back as I remember, I have always had a very deep love for Ventriloquism. I remember being around the age four when I watched a late night HBO comedy special, featuring a Ventriloquist. I found it to be so incredibly amazing, in many ways. For many years, I practiced throwing my voice as well as studying Ventriloquism. Today, I absolutely love practicing Ventriloquism with my own Ventriloquist dummy, whom I have named Peter Oakwood.
It has always given me a feeling of great satisfaction to create something that someone else will enjoy. I do become extremely picky about perfecting each piece of art work I create, until I remind myself: "If it were perfect, it would not be art." All of my pieces are signed and dated with the year of it's creation. If you have any requests for new works of art you would like to see, please let me know and I will be more than happy to create it. I hope you enjoy my art work as much as I enjoy creating it. |
