New in 2011! This colorful item is priced quite reasonably for our current times!
Its first Art Show was August 2011 at High Road Gallery, Worthington, Ohio. Items in the show required each one to include a ‘found’ object (explained herein).
Full Title: ‘Milky Way Dimension ~Travel to the Edge of Space.’
Travel into another dimension in Space or Astrology & view the Earth from there.
Framed with a Stand, this item has great deal of dimension & contains many surprises!
It is extraordinarily reasonably priced for today’s economy.
This Intuitive Art will foster one’s imagination about Spare Travel while being a feast for the eyes with color that truly pops forth to capture the eye.
Shelf Mount only & Overall Size with Stand: 13.5 inches high x 10 inches wide. Stand Size: 9 inch high Wood Easel, maroon with some ‘Space Travel’ surprises on it.
Overall Frame Size: 11.5 inches high x 9.75 inches wide. Frame Material: Mahogany & a non-standard size.
The frame was likely a custom made frame, given its size. It is quite likely Circa 1930s from what is known.
I Custom stained/painted the frame front & back so its wood grain can still be seen.
This pricess gives new life to and is a reuse in keeping with being ‘green’ in part of what I do as an artist.
Background: Fabric & it is padded. The ‘Milky Way’ was painted (by me) with a custom mix of acrylic, layered with glitter acrylic. Back Panel (not shown): The ‘Milky Way Dimension’ design continues on its painted back panel that includes planets, an old world map & dimensional stars.
Screens & Sizes: There are two (2) 5 inch Stars.* There is one (1) 3 inch Star which has .5 inch wide sides to create dimension (see additional views to see side view). * The second star on back of needlepoint is unseen, once applied to the panel.
Threads & Yarns: Metallic to add sparkle, Pearl Cotton & Acrylic Yarn. Stitch Size: 7 stitches to the inch. Mediums used: Painted Cloth with Needlepoint Star, ‘box’ & Embroidery with dimensional stitching, Pinpoint Tucking & beading.
Beads, Charms & Buttons: Jasper & Jade Stars, Antique Buttons, Ribbon Rose, Gemstones & Crystals: Fresh Water Pearl, Garnet, Carnelian, Agate, Aventurine, Rose Quartz, Fluorite, Quartz, Amethyst, Lapis Lazuli, Moonstone & Brass Charms of Stars, Moon & Sun & on its Stand, as well.
First Three-in-One ‘Found’ Objects: Three (3) Tektites, i.e., Pieces of Stars which have fallen to Earth. They were found in Thailand. I found them at a Rock Shop. They were Certified Authentic by a Gemologist.
Second ‘Found’ Object: Recycled & Refurbished old Wood Frame found in Las Vegas, Nevada. It was likely a custom made frame back in the day. It is likely from Circa 1930s.
Third ‘Found’ Objects (several items): Some unusual buttons & beads from the early decades of the last Century (1920, 1930 & 1940) from my Grandmother’s & Mother’s buttons which I inherited. Again, recycled & repurposed items used in my Intuitive Artistic process. One large glass bead looks like ice, so it is a comet on this art.
‘Milky Way Dimension ~Travel to the Edge of Space’ imbues the imagination to find what is ‘out there’ for anyone interested in our Universe & our annual trip on Planet Earth around our Sun!
