	Tagua Nut Butterfly Scrimshaw Eileen Newell This scrimshaw is carved on a tagua nut slice. Tagua nuts are also known as "vegetable ivory." They carve and yellow like real ivory, but grow on trees in the Rain forest so they are self-sustaining. No animals are killed and they provide a reason for the rain forest to be protected.
