About the Galleries
Woodgraining: The art of woodgraining has been around for hundreds of years. The quality of work being so well done you could not tell that it was painted. The art of woodgraing can take an item be it a door, mantle, baseboard or even furniture and make it look like its wood even if it did not start out that way. This art form also makes it possible to match white painted doors to custom cabinetry and much more. All the pictures of the woods in this gallery are hand painted wood on masonite. These are not pictures of stained wood, but hand painted works of art done on simple masonite like you find at home improvement stores. Woodgraining is a dying art, for most just making something a wood color, woodgraining is fooling the eye to believe it is actually real wood.
Marbleizing: Like the woodgraining gallery these are all hand painted marbles, done on thin sheets of styrene plastic or masonite. This art form can be seen mostly through out Europe and Italy. Everything in the marble gallery has been done in waterbase mediums and hand drawn with brushes. You think of master painters and their works of art. Each one of these panels is a work of art in itself down to the tromp l'oiel 3 dimensional moulding. |
