 Alexis Dawerdt Baranek, a native Floridian and professional artist is currently residing in Lake City, Florida with her husband. Art or some related form of creativity has always had an important place in her life from an early age. Alexis directed her attention to her first love, art, after spending 10 plus years in the administrative field.
Alexis' earliest works are focused on landscapes in oil or acrylic in a fairly realistic style. She finds inspiration in views from her own property located across from a farm or trips to the mountains and seashore and continues to develop her landscape series through new experiences.
Venturing into the more abstract mixed-media, Alexis has begun creating a loose colorful and highly textured body of work unique to her experience. The many colors in the layers and transparent areas are visible among the many textures and painterly shapes of these depth-filled works. Alexis' experimentation contributes to her enthusiasm and never-ending discovery of inspiration in surprising places.
The need for variety causes her to venture into fine crafts such as jewelry making and various other art objects. She makes no apology for not sticking to one style or medium. The variety keeps her growing and learning.
Alexis' paintings are currently exhibited at SoOh Fine Art Gallery in Lincoln, Nebraska and are in several private collections throughout the United States, Canada and England. She is a founding member of the Art League of North Florida.
Her work is also exhibited and sold from her website at www.alexisbaranekart.com as well as other online sites. She is a juried member of Worldwide Women Artists (WWAO), a Signature Member of the American Society of Landscape Painters and a member of EBSQ and a seller on artbyus.com (alexisart). |
