Born and raised on the Leach Lake Ojibwe reservation Kenny's artwork has a strong native American influence. He uses things he has handled almost daily in his life as a logger and working on ranches. A little immagination and a block of firewood becomes an eagle, a bear, or a cabin in the trees, that he carved out with a chainsaw.
He takes a deer antler and carves out a head and the antler is an eagle. Using bone, antler, or horn he makes a beautiful earring and necklace set or a key chain. Each handmade piece unique, the natural color is a big part of its beauty. No two are ever the same.
Twila his partner along with a few chickens, a dog, a cat, and the wildlife that wanders through from time to time make their home just outside of Glendive Montana. |
