Frank Frazier is a sculptor, painter, and collagist who attributes his talent as a blessing from the Creator. He works with oils, watercolor, charcoal and other materials and draws his influences from artifacts, artisans, vibrantly colored Kente cloth and figurines from his many trips to Africa. The fine artist has composed numerous masterpieces. These works of genius have depicted everything from the civil rights movement to jovial jazz concerts.
Frank Frazier’s work has been featured in books, films, television and movies like, Waiting to Exhale, Coming to America, Frank’s Place, and Bustin’ Loose. Exhibitions of his art include shows all over the United States and his work has been featured in institutions such as The Schomburg Center, New York Public Library, Howard University, Corcoran Gallery of Art in Washington, DC, and the National Civil Rights Museum in Memphis, Tennessee just to name a few.
Frank Frazier began his artistic work at an early age in Harlem, New York. He is self-taught and credits Romare Bearden, Jacob Lawrence, and Elizabeth Cattlett as his biggest artistic inspirations. The Viet Nam vet now lives in Dallas, Texas.
