Turtle shell dance rattle
sericia hubbard (see more by this artist)
This is a handmade turtle shell dance rattle used by Native Americans in Tribal Dances and would be part of their Regalia. The fringe is hand cut and I make the rawhide for the back of the rattle from the deer we hunt. The handle is from gathered saplings and leather is laced around it. The fur decoration is coyote and the "rattle" is dried corn or beans.
