Liberty Leading the People 2011

I am posting here today, my contribution as an artist, to the cause of "World Freedom". My new modern presently applicable creation is entitled; "Liberty Leading the People 2011". I never would have dreamed that I would live to see the "Day of Freedom", when freedom's bell's would ring out so loud and clear that poor and oppressed people all over the world would rise up and take their God-given rightful freedom and human rights, which they deserve as human beings. This is one of the absolute most powerful, glorious and important decades, since the world began. Bob Dylan's prophetic lyrics incite-fully spoke of these glorious days.
I am a firm believer, that just like news reporters and news papers, have a responsibility to their cities, their nations and to the world, to keep them updated with the present important and vital current events, likewise I feel it is both, artist's and poet's solemn responsibility, to create artistic masterpieces and poetic masterpieces, expressing the vital issues of the present world that they live in.
I used the figures of two of the most prominent Egyptian protesters in my modern presently applicable version of "Liberty Leading the People" a French painting by Eugène Delacroix commemorating the July Revolution of 1830, which toppled Charles X of France. In Delacroix's version, he uses a woman to personify Liberty leading the people forward over the bodies of the fallen, but in my "2011 version", I use two of the most prominent Egyptian protesters from the 18 day Revolution, which toppled the Egyptian dictatorship.
My strong personal feelings concerning the present revolutions, which are rising up everywhere, where poor people have lived in severe oppression by dictators for centuries is as follows; "for so many years America and other free nations have tried and tried to free oppressed people through multitudes of multi-billion dollar wars, that could never fully do what the people are now doing for themselves. That is because, as I have always believed, that you can never fully free people, who are being oppressed by dictators, they must free themselves, by finally wanting to be free so bad, that they are ready to fight for their freedom at all cost and that they are ready and willing to even die to win their freedom. When oppressed people are totally filled with that attitude, that even if their don't win, they will die trying and never give up. Only then, do any oppressed people, rise up themselves and take their rightful God-given freedom and human rights, to themselves and for themselves. Even now, the death of those, who have fallen in their "Fight for Freedom", their death is proud and glorious, as they continue to live on, even in death, through the free people, who are left to bath in their "Glorious Victory".
