Goddess of Transition
Elinor Palma Dandrea (see more by this artist)
This piece combined many ideas to form
it's main expression, that of transition or metamorphasis.
Here we can see the Goddess as both butterfly an scarab. The gem-like colors (Purple, green, teal, orange)are softed by the use of more translucent clay, while the beads are a copy of those used in the Art Deco jewelry of the '20's. Its pinback is also the piece on which the bail is set. It hangs on a thin black leather cord with an antique styled bamboo toggle.
She is worn very high on the clavicle union of the neck, and her train of beads nestle on the bossom of the chest. The meaning for this placement is the assended postion to the higher chakras, of the throat and heart.
