	click images below for alternate view     Sometimes the Dragon Wins Avalon Art Studio (see more by this artist) "Sometimes the Dragon Wins"© is a 15" x 10" pen & colored India ink painting with Gouache watercolor wash and 14 carat gold leaf on Canson Montval watercolor paper and created by award winning International artist Arlene Wright-Correll October 2010. The artist says, "October 31, 1986 was the last time I saw my good business friend and mentor, the late and great Warren G. Harding. I had just done a grand slam that year and had won every award the Academy of Real Estate had to give and was granted the ACE designation. The following April I experienced a huge financial disappointment in the Texas Bank Crash and was talking with Warren without realizing it would probably be the last conversation he and I would ever have and those last words of his were, "Some Times the Dragon Wins." I have thought of those words often and after closing my real estate consulting practice in 1992 I often thought of how to put those words into a painting. 23 years later this painting represents my final idea. The Knight stands weary, his sword has drawn blood, his head is bowed as he stands with one foot in this world and one foot out of it. All the eyes of the universe are watching as "Sometimes the Dragon Wins." This work is also is signed and dated by the artist and comes with an artist signed numbered Certificate of Authenticity and an artist bio. It is professionally matted and framed.
