"Pigeon Key"
Lisa Ruggiero (see more by this artist)
"Pigeon Key" is part of the Florida series of fish being named after towns/cities in the State of Florida. Carved freehand, without patterns, this wooden fish has small hand drawn scales, that have been hand painted in watercolors and metal acrylics. Many of the small scales have been rimmed in gold and silver which makes them appear iridescent. The fish was then sealed with 6 coats of a marine varnish (UV protectant) that will protect the colors against fading over damage over a long period of time. "Pigeon Key" measures 12 inches in length, 10 inches wide and has a glass blue eye. There is a wire hanger located on the back for easy hanging on any wall. The fish comes signed, dated, numbered, along with the name by wood burning on the back. This is a very unique, one of a kind piece of art that can not be duplicated, making it a collectable piece.
