Wind Blown Cyprus Tree

Note from the Artist:
Many coastal trees of the western seaboard grow off the cliffs and rocks. Their roots take hold in cracks and crevices clinging to the minimal soil they find here. The branches can be nearly barren of leaves and they have a great deal of old wood in their trunks and outreaching branches. The elements of wind and rain sculpt these trees into rugged works of art. I have tried to capture that essence in my coastal wind-blown tree. The tree shows new growth on the top where the sun conditions are best, and older growth layers beneath which show the wind sweeping pattern of nature. A fragile new tree erupts in the rocks beneath the larger tree.

The stones used to simulate the leaves are genuine Lapis Lazuli stones, drilled and hand wired,( not glued ), into the branches. Over 100 stones were used in this piece. This tree is made from variegated brown and copper tones of wire. The wire is 20 to 24 gauge strength and is tarnish resistant, with a high gloss finish. The base is fine Manzanita burl wood which is sealed with a protective finish and felt is applied to the mounting side. This piece is made for wall mounting.
This tree can be custom ordered in different wire colors and gem stones. The design and shape will be made to replicate as close as possible the model shown but because each tree is hand crafted no two trees can ever be identical. Custom requests and questions may be emailed to us. We take pride in working with each customer individually to create their special piece.
All trees come with a certificate of authenticity signed and dated by the artist who has been creating wire sculpture for over 25 years. Each tree is completely hand made with the best materials and made to last for many years.
