This is a hand carved wooden Musky relief created without patterns. The fish was sketched, cut and carved making it unique and one of a kind. This shows the Barred Phase of Musky, along with the red fins and tail. This is a very elusive, highly prized sports fish that can live for over 30 years. The females do not typically breed till they are around 17 years in age. The scales have been hand drawn with a charcoal pencil before painting. Some of the scales have been edged in a white oil pencil too, to give a more depth. Musky #3 measures 33 inches in length, is 10 inches in width and has a glass fish eye for realism. Each scale has been painted in watercolors and pearl acrylics added for an iridescent look at the light strikes the fish. The fish has been sealed in 8 coats of a high grade, semi gloss marine varnish. This will protect the colors against fading or damage over time. The back has a wire hanger, is signed, dated, numbered along with the name of the fish. The back has 2 coats of marine varnish also. Comes with a certificate of authenticity that this is an original carving from DryRiver Carving Living Waters Series.
