ABOUT THE ARTIST:
Vickie showed an early interest in drawing as a child by copying cartoon characters while watching TV. As a young teenager, she began watercolor and oil painting under the direction of Carl and Dorothy Pulcifer of Tyler, Texas. As a young mother, Vickie participated in workshops with noted watercolorists Tom Lynch, Claude Croney, Sue Alston, Angie Brown and others in the Dallas-Ft. Worth area. She has also studied oil painting with Bruce Peil and Penny Nichols-Sanders, and currently paints with a group of plein aire artists in the East Texas area. Her interests are varied, but she enjoys subject matter from Texas and Mexico as well as animals. She has been painting professionally for many years and has won numerous awards for her work. She is a past member of the East Texas Fine Arts Association, Southwest Watercolor Society and a current member of Tyler's Palette of Roses Art League.
