 Burt Purmell is a graduate of the School of Visual Art, NYC with an MS in Communications Design - Pratt Institute NY.
He had been an Art Director with major NYC ad agencies Doyle Dane Bernbach,B&B,O&M and JWThompson. Purmell won two Best of Show CLIO awards-(the Oscar of Advertising Creativity)as Art Director of Kodak and Benihana of Tokyo TV commercials. He had also been awarded a One Show Gold as well as many other national awards, including an Ozzie for Best Design of a Regional Magazine. His advertising design work had been featured in Graphis Magazine, Switzerland.
Burt works mainly in Watercolor,Acrylics, and Scratchboard Art. His paintings have been juried into many shows including the Eastern States Regional Art Exhibition and the National 48th Fall Open Exhibition of the Southern Vermont Arts Center. He is an Art League member and Guide on WetCanvas Online Forums. Burt is also an artist member of AHA Art Helping Animals.
