 I have been interested in art since a child. My father painted and my brother draws cartoons. My earliest drawings were pencil portraits, and paint by number was always a good gift for me to receive.
I have been painting for 35 years. I have had 2 semesters of art classes and am mostly a self taught painter getting additional tips and information from TV painters and instructional books.
For some time my family has been after me to SELL my work. So in October of 2007 I began to go commercial. What an adventure it has been. I am so thrilled when I see people are willing and eager to pay for my paintings. But the best thrill is painting a memory for them to treasure.
I specialize in painting in oil any type of picture from peoples photographs, whether it be of a loved one, a place, a favorite toy, or sports theme.
I believe my best work is in portraits of people. I am not satisfied unless they really look like the person I am painting.
Seeing the joy on my customers face not the money is my true reward. Of course the money is necessary in order to continue to buy my supplies.
