"A seagull strides across the darkened scene, spotlighted by the first rays of the morning sun. Where is it going with such a serious manner?"
Artist Comments: ""I wanted to capture the look of intense concentration in the eye of this mature gull. The stark whiteness of its form contrasts with the intense blue of the shadowy background. With gouache, I was able to render the subtle softness of the gull's feathers, as well as 'punch up' the details in its legs and facial features. Blue, white, and grey, it turns out, are favorites of mine when combined together."
"Morning Blues" is a limited edition, giclée print from an original gouache painting by Carol Thompson. Edition length is 3600 authorized, signed, limited edition prints (3500 numbered and 100 artist proofs). Prints on paper are signed and numbered by Carol Thompson, include a signed certificate of authenticity, and are shrink wrapped on fome board. Prints on canvas are signed and numbered by Carol Thompson, include a signed certificate of authenticity, and are gallery wrapped (the image is extended or mirrored to wrap around the sides of wooden stretcher bars and stapled to the back) so the print can be displayed framed or unframed. Other products are not signed or numbered unless specifically noted.
