ARTIST STATEMENT
I have asked myself why I enjoy painting and what motivates me to create a particular work of art. My main motivation seems to come from bold and dramatic patterns, colors, and floral objects, all arranged in ways to create beauty, warmth and explicit attention. My main inspiration for the majority of my work is contrasting colors. The bright colors force the subject to come to life on the canvas and allow viewers to see the objects in a unique style.
ARTIST BIOGRAPHY
Cassandra Baker Patten, born and raised in Beaver, Pennsylvania, grew up painting and drawing since the time she could hold a pencil and a paintbrush. Her father is an architect and he encouraged her creativity and enthusiasm about shapes, color and geometric patterns. She continued her interest in the arts throughout grade school, high school and college. Graduating from college with a Graphic Design degree, she also received a Certificate in Art Education in order to share her creativity with others as a teacher as well as an artist. Cassandra has exhibited work in many local galleries and would like to continue showing the world her bright, colorful and unique imagination.
Her most inspiration and source of happiness comes from her husband, Brodie, and their two lovely cats! |
