Christopher L. Overcash from an early age has held a keen interest in maritime affairs, history, and the environment. This interest, coupled with a talent in the visual arts, led to recognition in local circles including displays at local art museums. The artist has completed a variety of commissioned works including outboard profiles of various watercraft. The artist has also provided assistance to U.S. Naval Institute photographers in the field.
Recently the artist, also a licensed engineer, supervised engineering designs for the construction of a new visitor’s dock at the Thomas Point Lighthouse near Annapolis, Maryland for the U.S. Lighthouse Society. In support of this work the artist completed a watercolor rendering which is currently on display at the Annapolis Maritime Museum.
The artist is also an avid sailor and on many weekends can be found sailing with his wife and daughters on Chesapeake Bay.
