 Cosmos
My attention to the Cosmos began when I saw the Hubble photos of Nebulas with such fantastic and artistic colors made from their gases and explosions.
During a lot of days I dreamed about one particular “Cosmos” to live, without gravity,
just to be near to the “music of the spheres”, like Pithágoras said a long time ago.
Anusual vibrations that are transformed in colors when the stars were born or die.
The idea is to transport to my language/paint this wonderful world that exists above us. This is my new challenge to be achieved.
The idea that all this happens so far away from us in time and space, makes me free to create a new spectrum of colors from my imagination.
- Fantastic Landscapes- were created in Fresno between March 2005 and April 2007. The powerful impressions of a beautiful city so colorful as Fresno with its trees and gardens, surrounded by the Sierra Nevadas, the waterfalls and mountains of granite of Yosemite have been created a period of great inspiration for me.
I work with acrylics and try to create strong textural forms on my canvases. This desire to create three-dimensional effects has resulted in a constant search to introduce new techniques into my paintings.
These Paisagens Fantásticas includes a new series – Paisagens Interiores (interior landscapes). They are products of my longing for my homeland of Brazil and of the emotional moments that I am living now. They are landscapes of the mind; places I have never been and perhaps will never visit; like the cosmos.
March 2010 she did a show with big canvases (60"x48") at K-Jewel Art Gallery showing all new works of this Cosmos series.
During all the year of 2010 and half of 2011, she has been painting freely and her mind is taking her to a different moments of her paint.
These last abstract works reflects her liberty and gestural reflections of herself.

Bio
Christina Motta is a native of São Paulo, Brazil and is currently divides her time between Brazil and Fresno. Her professional career began very early in 1969 with drawings and oil paintings and since then has shown her works in various collective exhibitions and more than twenty-five individual exhibitions in Brazil and also in other countries in South America. She has received many medals and awards from art competitions for her paintings and watercolors. She has studied with several well-known Brazilian artists including Beatriz Rota Rossi (engraving and drawing), Paulo Menten (drawing and painting), Waldemar da Costa (drawing, Romeo de Graça (oil painting and mixed media), and Antonio Victor (oil and acrylic painting, drawing, and watercolors).
Reproductions of her works have been published in two dictionaries of art: L’Annuaire International de L’Art (France, 1985) and Dicionário de Artes Plásticas (Walmir Ayala RJ, Brazil, 1990) and with the group of Brazilian painters, Onze Caminhos (Eleven Ways) who jointly published their works in 1987.

Bio em Portugues
Artista plástica nascida em São Paulo, Brasil, atualmente divide dois campos de trabalho.
Um em Fresno – Califórnia-USA e outro em S.Paulo.
Sua arte reflete sua vivência entre países tão distintos como o Brasil e os EUA
Suas cores e texturas buscam dentro de sua linguagem, expressar a incrível diversidade de uma flora tropical, versus uma flora quase desértica como da Califórnia.
. Fresno é uma cidade muito peculiar onde podemos encontrar paisagens áridas e secas como também imensos jardins com flores exuberantes e rosas de tamanhos descomunais.
De sua arte quase abstrata, surgiu em 2000 uma fase que foi se construindo ao longo desses sete anos como expressionista.
. Dentro de sua temática de Paisagens Fantásticas encontramos uma outra, que podemos chamar de” Paisagens Interiores”, muito intimista, aonde o abstracionismo volta a ser usado.
Em 2011 realizou um trabalho mais livre em seu abstracionismo, quase gestual, onde a cor pode expandir-se sem estar ligada a um tema.
Continuando o trabalho de nebulosas em 2012 realiza uma exposição em Fresno na Fig Tree Gallery- com uma instalação com 30 pequenos e medios quadros mostrando uma explosão de nebulosas.
