I love Asian art and I try to make this come through in most of my work while still maintaining a clean, contemporary feel. I like to use rich, earthy glaze colors and often use designs such as bamboo, cranes, longevity symbols, dragons, and koi fish, among others. I am in the process of making some pieces with real bamboo handles that are from stalks I cut down myself from my husband's grandmother's home in California.
