Art by self-taught, self-representing, gallery-shown artist Sandra Corey. Organizations: Artist Member SDAI, San Diego Art Institute Museum of the Living Artist. Works have been shown and sold at: San Diego Art Institute Museum of the Living Artist, California and Tubac Center of the Arts, Tubac Arizona and online galleries.
About me: There are many labels attached to the art of a self-taught artist: Folk art; outsider art; art brut and raw art. I am not sure which label applies to me. Abstract and folk art seem to be the styles in which I work most. Although I painted now and then throughout my life, I have been painting full-time since August 2006, when I sold my first painting on eBay. From time to time I have considered returning to school to earn a degree in art. But instead I just keep doing what I am doing and enjoying it too much to take time out for a formal art education.
Title: Loft #12. Number 12 in the popular Loft series. As with all paintings in the Loft series, this piece is non-directional so it can hang vertically or horizontally.
Colors: Multiple shades ochre, gray, olive green raw sienna and umber a rich, cream-colored background. Colors fresher and richer in person.
Style: Raw, textured, layered with palette knife, contemporary, modern abstract art. Original paintings for urban lofts and contemporary interior design.
Medium: Oils on stretched canvas. Solid wood stretcher bars, wired, signed, dated and ready to hang, archival quality canvas, gallery profile wrapped and painted on all sides.
Forms of Payment Accepted: PayPal is the preferred payment method.
Shipping: Larger pieces are shipped by UPS ground Monday through Friday for 2-7 day delivery. Paintings are generally shipped the day after your PayPal payment is received.
Return Policy: Please evaluate your painting for up to 14 days and if your are not satisfied with it, you may return it. Please contact me prior to returning your painting. Please reuse the box and packing materials and UPS or another reputable courier most convenient to you. All return shipments must be insured. Please remember, buyer pays for the return shipping.
