Artist Statement
I have combined my abstract landscapes style using richly vibrant colors over layers of various textures with my geometric sculptural theme to produce “sculptural abstract landscapes”. My early sculptural abstract landscapes were heavy cedar frame and stretched canvas pieces. Currently my abstracts use aluminum as the structure and the canvas, thereby creating a lightweight and sometimes weatherproof wall sculpture of mixed media
Building on my formal art education; graphic design, architectural and photography work experiences, has enabled me to shape my visions into works of art. I continue to explore new methods and materials to create my artwork.
My recent projects have explored large format canvas prints mounted on aluminum, mixed media aluminum wall sculptures, outdoor sculptures, homegrown cherry and bamboo hand crafted designs and color enhanced abstract images and whimsical, digitally produced imaginary landscapes.
