Dianna Lyons is a self-taught artist. She was interested in art as a child, however in her teens she went into various other pursuits. Some 30 years later she wanted art back into her life. Out came her old pastel set, something inside her always made her keep it. She started to draw and paint again. She has in a short time done several commission works and has started to build up her portfolio. She was the Featured Artist at the West Custer County Library for March and April of 2006. Dianna is a Board Member, Historian as well as Exhibit Director of Public Art for the Sangres Art Guild and a member of the Pastel Society of Colorado. Lyons also had a pastel “Steel and Smoke” in the “Industry” exhibit in the Sangre de Cristo Arts and Conference Center in Pueblo from February to May of 2006 as part of a larger show “The Machine Age”.

Dianna likes to do commission art works on various subjects. Most of the commissions so far have been of homes and pets. She aspires to make a work of art that makes the person that requested it happy, and she likes it that the artwork itself goes to a good home where it is loved. Her artworks are done in pastel, graphite or pen & ink.
Dianna Lyons lives at the base of the Sangre de Cristo Mountains near her son Devon. They enjoy walks in the woods with their Border Collie Maverick. They also like to go Gold panning and Fossil hunting.
