The fisherman going home
Dominique Amendola
Original oil on canvas
20"x 30"
There is a certain romanticism in fishermen and old boats, at least in the mind of those who do not have to go fishing for their daily sustenance. The waters of the river are calm, the man just went to gather some grass for his cows on his boat on the other side of the river, It is late afternoon and the light is at this time extraordinary and almost mystical. This is life in certain parts of India. In this piece I went a bit beyond realism by stylizing the design of the picture. I also focused on the colors and it come out almost like a japanese print. I call this style, contemporary and post impressionism, used extensively by our friend Van Gogh, the master artist.
Stretched wrapped canvas with painted sides.
Art is the best asset class right now
