Ellen McDonough is an award-winning, self-taught artist whose passion is creating 3d art that invites the viewer to a magical, mystical place.
All her life, Ellen has had visions of beautiful, mystical places, and when designing it always feels as if these places actually exist somewhere in space and time. Many times she has felt a presence guiding her on colors and the placement of certain elements.
Though she has done sketches and paintings, Ellen's favored medium is Digital Fine Art. Architectural details are modeled in 3d Studio Max or Bryce 3d, and imported into Photoshop where Ellen "paints" the remaining scene.
Ellen’s inspiration comes mainly from dreams, but also from her travels to ancient, mysterious places such as Egypt, Greece, Mexico, the British Isles and the southwest (for virtual tours of these places, see www.earthwisdom.com )
Originally from Boston, Ellen lives in California during cooler months and returns to New England the rest of the year where she markets her art as prints, magnets, journal books, greeting cards and gallery wraps.
It is Ellen's hope that her designs bring people inspiraion, a sense of peace, and a feeling of being taken away someplace beautiful far from every day concerns.
