Frederick Doar is a painter from the abstract expressionist tradition. He has studied the works of Pollock, Dekooning, Rothko, and others to create the neo-abstract school of Subatomic Realism. He contends that his paintings are representations of reality at the subatomic level.
Mr. Doar has painted full-time for the past 6 years. He has created over 250 paintings of striking color, rich action, and alluring mystery. He continues to experiment with new techniques to expand his capabilities.
His studio is located on the West Coast, in beautiful Sausalito, California. He is the former CEO and owner of Grace Baking Company, a member of the Marin High School Sports Hall of Fame, and was awarded the George Sugarman Award for Heroism. He is an avid hiker, fly fisherman, horseback rider, biker, and world traveler.
Mr. Doar has published 10 books of photography including 4 works in 2008. These books of his artwork and travels have won rave review from his small but growing group of fans. He is also an appreciated contributor to youtube where he has posted 7 highly rated videos.
Frederick Doar will have 20 paintings on display during the 2009-2010 school year at Claremont McKenna College in Southern California.
