Gail Erickson is a ceramic artist and sculptor, as well as an instructor. Artist In Residence at UB Kinsey School of the Arts in West Palm Beach, Florida, from 2005-2007. Currently teaching children's classes, and sculpting in her studio.
Awards include: Passion for the Arts Award and Three-Dimentional Design at the Palm Beach State College Eissey Campus Gallery in 2005, and The Lighhouse Art Center in 2010. A Unique Art Art Gallery in Jupiter, 2012.
Other exhibits include The Community Foundation in West Palm Beach, Artigras in Jupiter,Beyond Decór Gallery in Palm Beach, Art of Life Gallery in Wellington, Fall Fling in Wellington, The Wellington Art Festival,The Craft Gallery in West Palm Beach, The Eaton Gallery in West Palm Beach, The Lighthouse Art Center in Tequesta, and A Unique Art Gallery in Jupiter FL.
Inspired by nature, Gail uses plants on both wet clay and bisque pieces to create her designs. She uses the wheel,slab,and combinations of both to achieve her fine art ceramic pieces. The glazes used on her funtional and decorative pieces contain small crystals ensuring that each piece be unique. Portrait sculpture and human forms are finished using stains,underglazes,and patinas. |
