I tend to think when my inspiration attacks that I go to a higher place, higher conscience, higher thinking than many. I see the image and let it rest in my mind until some moment or god given trust pushes me to develop it in a real world. However, my real world might not be my reality and therefore I transcend but it takes all of me with it. The silence I seek without distraction assist in the gathering of all the static designs then organizes it into a series of thoughts which allows the artist in me to work.
I have spent my whole life striving to be the best in a corporate world, as a father and a person and stealing away time to paint allows me to compete or compare to no one but myself of which I always win for there is no loss. To be an artist, you just have to be. Many do not take art seriously mostly because they have never tried or they have no talent and so it goes...they turn-down the smallest thought that art has value. As for most without knowledge, they live in a world of simple thoughts and simple life's. We as artist strive to complicate, to challenge ourselves and push ourselves to develop the skill of such abstraction to many of the simple minds. To the trained and intelligent, our abstractions are their treasures and our mistakes are their masterpieces. The artist world is like another planet full of different and far reaching theories and thoughts unlike the basic world which most live in. Unless you’re a true artist, this world is light years away thus explaining why many never see what the artist sees or feels but then again the Art of Abstraction is without reason and questioning it brings no answer. Yes, I have seen the blank stares of those without imagination. There are always those who have to feel it, see it and know it before it's something. The Art of Abstraction knows what it is without it being anything. It's our total imagination, our dreams, our thoughts stuffed into one place, on one canvas or marble block with only a name - ART
