Samuel E. Haug, 1959-
ABOUT THE ARTIST....
Samuel E. Haug is an artist from the Midwest. His drawings and paintings are a combination of inspiration and imagination. Envisioned narrative scenes as well as representational pieces.
"Somewhere between realism and creative interpretation is where I find myself when creating art.
I am always trying for something that is uniquely my own. This is what sets artists apart from the ordinary.
I strive to use techniques learned from my influences without being just a copy of them and their style."
Samuel's influences include other Midwest artists such as Thomas Hart Benton and Grant Wood. Influenced as well by Renaissance masters Leonardo DaVinci and Michelangelo.
Born in Cuba City, Wisconsin in 1959 and raised in Council Bluffs, Iowa. He attended the Studio Academy of Commercial Art and Design in Omaha, Nebraska in 1982 and has held a variety of design positions which have included: Art Instructor for the Universal Technical Institute of Omaha, Product Designer, Silkscreen Artist, Design Agency Artist and Sign Painter.
Samuel E. Haug currently works and exhibits his fine art in the Omaha, Nebraska/Council Bluffs, Iowa area. |
