Hugo CruzABOUT THE ARTIST
by Mr. Scott Ruger, writer and avid supporter
¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯
"The variety of styles and preferred media in Hugo's artwork speaks volumes of this artist's natural curiosity and dynamic perspective. As a child, Hugo was raised in a multicultural environment which enriched his innate appreciation for nature and its vibrant array of colors (Being exposed to the art at various culturally diverse and artistically vibrant cities such as: Acapulco, Mexico City, Toronto, Montreal, San Francisco and Coconut Grove/Miami to name a few). His mother, a notable interior decorator and designer, further influenced his artistic spirit by learning how to transform a common subject into a vibrantly affectual, remarkable, creation that captures the senses. His fearless and sometimes unorthodox use of elemental mixed media is a reflection of his love for the natural beauty in every material.

Hugo received his Bachelors Degree in Liberal Arts from the University of Florida. As a young adult, he established a successful career as a graphic designer, magazine publisher and photographer. But, his passion has always been in creating art. His lineal, graphic design backround, is apparent in many of his meticulous creations.

His works are collected by art enthusiasts internationally and have been sold in art boutiques, galleries and shows in Canada, Mexico and USA. Hugo currently lives in Florida and, as time permits, tours the art show circuit in the Southeast. Yessy is a new market for him but he is excited by its possibilities and looks forward to offering many more of his diverse works to his Yessy Gallery. Being one of his avid patrons for many years, I know his art will become a cherished addition to your collection."
