 This image is of Rosie, she has a buoy head and body and carved hands and feet she is alsoweatherproof.She is 4 feet tall and is my mascot-she won first prize in a mixed media show and I change her outfits for different occassions-I have been crafting and painting for 25 years.I only recently in the past two years actually tried to paint people in a somewhat realistic manner-I am self taught-Or an outsider artist-I have no formal training.I paint people on buoys with acrylic paints.This is a new endeavor, I have been painting buoys soley since april 2007.I dabbled with them off and on for 5 years. I have completed 40 or so, and have done 23 custom ordersI I have done 2 shows and the public response has been great. I do not know of any other artists that paint people on buoys-if you do please email me. there are 2 different styles the small full bodied are 11 inches tall and some have feet and legs which male them taller, some start as 15 inch buoys which are also wider. some are just heads that are used as outside art for different holidays-I will supply basic body instruction for these, Bodies can also be made for $ 38.00. I also paint on wood and sometimes add this to the buoys along with fabric and other embellishments. Some are made up,some are actual people-some are a combination-they usually make me laugh as I am creating them and they always remind me of someone. I also do custom orders-all are COPYRIGHTED DESIGNS. Custom orders require good Quality photos-usually the best are taken in natural light-either outside or with natural light from a window coming from behind you- a good camera is a must. Be careful using flash it affects the eyes of the subject-especially pets, and the eyes are one of the most important features in painting a likeness accurately.
