Night Fear
JJ Arts
A signed 9 X 12 colored pastel composition, fixed and permanently mounted to Masonite. Latino graffiti, and a tense young woman is the focal point for this conceptual piece of art created from the memory of the artist. It depicts a young lady of 1970’s Spanish Harlem, New York, nervously seated on a bus stop bench just after midnight on the nearly abandon streets of the city, while she awaits the last bus of the day. The ambiance suggests the young woman’s anxious anticipation. There is an abstracted intimation of nearby Manhattan in the background.
