NEWS :Spring/Summer 2007- "Back To Roots" Project.
Ignoring the all to engulfing art buisness process, James is devoting the summer of 2007 to getting back to basics. This is a simple endever he is very exctied about.
what does the project consist of?
Simple. James has decided to revolt against the art buisness world and hit the streets, parks and piers of NYC, and simply paint for donations! At the end of the day when the piece is complete the very last person to ask for it will receive it! Percentages of donations made that day will go toward non-profit benefits and "help" organisations!
Why?
The art world and world at large has become to engrosed in greed, James wishes not to fuel this monster any longer. Focus on life and sharing has become more importent.
He will look forward to seeing you out there and hopes you like what you see!
James' work has been published in Book Art Press' International art book "New Art International"2006 edition.On sale in bookstores now.
James Jacob Pierri's art influences, inspires, captivates and scandalizes! Raw, earthy,sensual and even Homo-Erotic, these are but a few descriptions of this artists work. Having a world wide international following of collectors and keeping busy with private showings. James continues to create a new collection for every season while taking commission work as well.
His art has been in multiple fashion shoots for international make-up artists and their models,shown in museums, used in film for TV series and miniseries.
James has created pieces for numerous charity events regarding AIDS, CANCER, HOMELESS ENDEAVORS and more,for both national and international crowds.
The ART itself is created from scratch by hand,the uniqueness of the frame which is usually about 4 inches thick and over lapping and layering of strips of canvas,burlap, cotton and various materials used to bring the creation to life with rich texture. These paintings vary in size as well as theme, from 1 ft x1 ft to as tall and wide as 8 ft x 5 ft. Though James is usually inspired by the human form ,there is difference in the variety he chooses to display of the human form. Abstract, simple lines or using classical feel. His passion for life and his art is apparent, and its not until you come face to face with his work, do you feel the strong, sensual and spiritual force that emanates from his work.
