Then little children were brought to Jesus for him to place his hands on them and pray for them, but the disciples rebuked those who brought them. Jesus said, "Let the children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of heaven belongs to such as these."~Matthew 19:13-14
I wanted to show the children coming to Jesus willingly and joyfully. Because of the words 'Let the children come' and 'do not hinder' I am left to understand that the children wanted to go to Him as if they knew who He was. We all know little children do not willingly go up to strangers even if the parents say that it is okay.
Jesus is not just scolding the disciples for keeping the children from Him, but is also speaking of an uncomplicated, child-like faith in who He is. Little children have one over an adult when it comes to faith.
For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through Him. Whoever believes in him is not condemned, but whoever does not believe stands condemned already because he has not believed in the name of God's one and only Son~John 3:16.
