Judy Brand works out of her home studio in Clarkston, Washington. She has been painting twenty six years and exhibiting 18 years throughout the US as well as Hong Kong while living there from 1998 to 2002. Working in watercolor and other water media, Judy had been awarded in numerous shows and her work has been purchased here in the US and internationally.
She attended the Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Art in Philadelphia, PA, DeCordova Museum School,Concord, MA, York Academy of Arts in York, PA, Abington Art Center, Abington, MA, Gertrude Herbert Institute of Art, Augusta, Georgia, Arkansas Art Center in Little Rock, Arkansas and the Hong Kong Academy of Fine Art. She holds an associates degree in graphic design from York Academy of Arts.
She is past President of the Idaho Watercolor Society and 'Bridging the Arts', and currently a member of the Palouse Watercolor Socius and The Spokane Watercolor Society.
Teaching:
As a 'teaching artist" with the Idaho Commission on the Arts since 2005, Judy conducts art residencies in school classrooms. Two schools in northern Idaho have enjoyed 3-day residencies exploring watercolor.
An elementary school in Lewiston created 400 sculptures of animals from recycled materials.
