A painting is life as we know it and feel it.
I showed my painting "Dragon Fire" to my nephew, to him it contained a huge dog way in the background (a healer) and a dragon breathing fire mid-section going through and out of the painting -- exit right. He saw a man surprised by the dragon's destruction who is at the bottom left coming into the painting.
My nephew owns a little terrier for companionship (his healer). He was shot in a random robbing last year and is now paralyzed from the waist down. He is confined to a wheelchair for life. He associated "Dragon Fire" to his life. I did not see what he saw in the painting, I do now... I saw horses running into the sunset.
It is very inspiring to hear the effects that my images may have on someone, please comment! Go ahead and email me if you have any questions or comments!!! That would be great and you may inspire me to paint from the words you write!
