Welcome to the "Langdon Folk Art Gallery". I'm from New England originally, Connecticut, New Hampshire and Coastal Maine. I've always been creative in one way or another and I've always like old things. I consider myself self-taught with just a few art classes under my belt. In my early teens I took a summer class with Madeleine Sharrer in Guilford, Ct. and in college 2 Form and Structure Classes and a Drawing Class. The first painting I remember doing in 1970 was of an Amish Boy insired by a photo in National Geographic... Time Passed. I moved to Florida in the 1980's. I've lived over half my life here now. I opened a shop for the summer in Provincetown at Whaler's Wharf selling my "Art To Wear"...and later in Florida I opened a company "Gypsies Art To Wear". For 15 years I was painting and creating on Fabric and still do on a smaller scale. In the early days I won awards at South Florida Shows with my "Art To Wear" and sold to Disney and high end Boutiques, wholesale, across the country...It was time for a change and I decided to close the business. ...At the age of 51, this is the first listing of my "New Art" for sale. I think you'll see both New England and Southern Influences in my work as I progress and add more paintings. I have these people I need to paint for whatever reasons...I'd like to think of my work as "Naive Folk Art, Sweetly Soulful with a Bit of Whimsy, sometimes with an Outsider Twist" ...Holly Ann Langdon......P.S.: Please view my other gallery on Yessy, "Eclectic Folk Art" |
