|Ralph was raised in Colorado. He spent 25 years in the Army and retired in 2006. His artwork is inspired by the nature around him. He started many years ago by painting animals on rocks and developed a method for painting with acrylic paint on natural leaves. He paints with oil and acrylic on canvas using the methods of several different styles. His wildlife on leaves are all local in Colorado. They are a challenging medium, and he loves the presentation when matted and framed. He loves color! He is moved by the beautiful sunrises and sunsets and the colors that flood the landscape and creates the beauty of nature and the creatures that share the planet.
He is amazed by the messages left by the ancestors in the many rock art sites around the country. He immerses in the history and knowledge of messages left thousands of years ago.
He takes inspiration from the american southwest and the style of native design. His art can be found in a New York Museum and homes around the U. S.
