Biography
Johan Leopold Lundgren"Life is for experiencing things"
This is a quote from Ingeborg Jacobsson 1997 shortly before her death.
The question was: Grandma what is the meaning of life? The answer was partly due to a perhaps not too easy life as married to an artist. Oscar Jacobsson was best known as the creator of the cartoon figure Adamson (Uncle Sam in the US). On top of everything he died relatively early (1945).
I thought for a long time that the only thing I inherited from my grandfather was the anxiety of an artist, perhaps not visible externally but felt inside of me. That wasn’t the case and one of the many forms it has taken during the years is metal horses.

Voluntary and compulsory
The material shown in the figures is common flat iron. Iron bends voluntarily and is a feeling with soft, round forms as a goal. Weld on the other hand, creates compelling, hard joints. The balance between voluntary and compulsory is exciting to work with.

Horses have been with me throughout life. Or is it perhaps the other way around?
The quest for balance is a lifelong pursuit. It permeates our people and pushes our lives forward. Metal is a kind of order in the chaos of nature and constitutes the basis of the exhibition "A man and his horses" at Villa Stranna in Trollhättan december 1-31 2008.

You are all welcome to Trollhättan!
