I am 47 years old and live in Santa Cruz California. I was raised in Mamaroneck, New York, and received a BFA in painting and printmaking from the University of Arizona, Tucson. While living in Los Angeles I worked as a motion picture set painter. Most of my career as an artist has been as a painter and printmaker (monotypes). Over the past few years I have begun to concentrate more on photography, first with painting on my own b+w photographs and now with digital photography. I work with an Olympus dslr and Photoshop 7 software. I take images from architecture, nature, and people and combine them to create unique spiritual landscapes. I hope that my work will help the viewer to connect with his/her own sense of spirituality.
I also have a gallery devoted to my paintings and monoprints. Monotypes are works created by rolling ink onto a plate, placing printing paper(Rives bfk)on top, and while it is still wet it is then run through a printing press. Each monotype is a unique piece. All photographs and monotypes are printed using archival papers and are shipped rolled in a tube. I have exhibited my work around the country and been included in such publications as Architectural Digest and Country Living.
The photographs and monoprints are signed by the artist and shipped rolled in a tube(unmatted). All works are printed on archival paper and the photographs have an estimated lifespan of 100+ years. I would love to recieve any feedback you may have about my work. I can be reached by e-mail at marclmoss@cs.com. |
