	Coopers Hawk Over Appalachia The Artist, Mataya Standing next to the Ridgecrest NC Christain Conference Center in the Blue Ridge Mountains of Appalachia, I noticed a cross erected on a far away ridge. I took a photo and a week later, began painting. Half way through the painting, I began work on the "cross". Surprise ! Looking through my magnifying glass, I realized the "cross" was just a "clever tree", posing as a cross for the Christian Centers Visitors ! Gotta' get my eyes checked... The Coopers Hawk is a well known bird of prey with a wide range throughout most of the U.S. Many people know him as "red tailed hawk"...
